August 5, 2021
Dear Lincoln School Families,
On behalf of the Lincoln School Staff I am excited to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! It is hard to believe that August is already here and the start of school is just around the corner. We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing summer and made many treasured memories. Here at Lincoln we have been busy getting the school ready for another wonderful year of learning. Our staff is looking forward to seeing all their wonderful Lincoln students and welcoming our newest students. I have to say, my favorite part is watching our amazing staff working long hours to make their rooms a welcoming place for learning. I apologize for the lateness of our letter but our gym has been undergoing some work and I was unsure, until today, if we would be able to have our First Day Celebration. Thankfully we will be able to use the gym for our parent meeting.
This year we are going to have our First Day Celebration for our 3rd grade students on Wednesday August 18th. This day is a wonderful opportunity for our students to get familiar with our staff and our building while no other students are in the building. Our first day will be a full school day starting at 8:05 and ending at 3:30 and buses will be running. We invite parents to join their students as they begin their first day at Lincoln.
On Thursday August 19 we will welcome all students back to Lincoln with a First Day Celebration for our 4th and 5th grade students. The schedule for both days will be the same:
7:45-8:00 Meet on the playground to meet our staff and enjoy muffins and juice
8:05-8:45 Open House time in the classrooms unpacking and learning about the teacher
8:45-9:15 Parent Meeting in the Gym with Mrs. Togni.
In order to stay up to date with all the things happening at Lincoln School, I highly encourage you to download the Glendive Public Schools app. It is the best way to receive information and news from our school. Lincoln also has a new website, lesglendive.com There you can access all kinds of information including the calendar, parent handbook, school supply list, upcoming events, and contact information for staff. Facebook will be used to share pictures and videos, but the app will be how we get the important information to you.
We look forward to welcoming all our students back to school. We are very excited this year to welcome parents and family back into our building. We have missed you. We are looking forward to embarking on another wonderful year of learning together. This year will be full of new experiences, making new friends, and building memories to last a lifetime. We are anxious to get started! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 377-2308.
All the best,
Principal, Lincoln Elementary
