Val Damron and Laureen Murphree
Val Damron is the embodiment of a Community Champion. She works tirelessly to better our community and society by helping to shape the lives of some of our most vulnerable citizens: special needs children.

Val taught special-ed preschool for years giving every ounce of herself to her students. Not only did she shape their lives inside the classroom she also made sure they were taken care of at home, reaching out to parents to make sure they had what they needed to care for their child and selflessly delivering food and household items
when needed. Ms. D, as she is fondly referred to, is an amazing child advocate who always does what is best for the students she serves.

She recently was promoted to Special Services Director and I have no doubt Glendive Schools and students will benefit tremendously from her leadership.

Val not only gives 100% to children in school, but she is also active as a foster parent, a member of the Best Beginnings Coalition, the
organizer of the Out of the Darkness Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk, and the Homeless Liaison for Glendive Public Schools. She also gave a lot of time to the Trading Card Kids program in the
past.

In her spare time Val enjoys fishing. She is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and tries to be an
active participant for bettering our community.

When I think of Val the first thing that comes to my mind is kindness and grace.
